Canesten Soft Gel Pessary Combi (1 Pack): consists of a Canesten 500mg soft gel pessary, which is inserted inside the vagina, and Canesten thrush cream, which is applied to the outside of the vagina (vulva and labia). Both contain the active ingredient clotrimazole, which is an antifungal medicine used to treat infections with fungi and yeasts.
Vaginal thrush is the common term for infections of the vagina with Candida species of fungi, in particular Candida albicans. This infection causes inflammation and discharge from the vagina. Canesten thrush cream contains 2% clotrimazole. It is applied to the outside of the vagina (vulva and labia) to help provide immediate relief from the external symptoms of the infection, such as itching, inflammation and soreness.
Do not use Canesten Soft Gel Pessary Combi but consult your doctor if this is the first time you have had symptoms of vaginal thrush.

How to use Canesten Soft Gel Pessary Combi: Using the applicator insert the soft gel pessary as high as possible into the vagina.The cream should be thinly applied to the vulva and surrounding area, two or three times daily and rubbed in gently.

Warnings:
Medical advice should be sought if this is the first time the patient has experienced symptoms of candidal vaginitis.Before using Canesten Soft Gel Pessaries, medical advice must be sought if any of the following are applicable:- more than two infections of candidal vaginitis in the last 6 months- previous history of sexually transmitted disease or exposure to partner with sexually transmitted disease- pregnancy or suspected pregnancy.- aged under 16 or over 60 years.- known hypersensitivity to imidazoles or other vaginal antifungal products.- irregular vaginal bleeding.- abnormal vaginal bleeding or a blood-stained discharge.- vulval or vaginal ulcers, blisters or sores.- lower abdominal pain or dysuria.- any adverse events such as redness, irritation or swelling associated with the treatment.- fever or chills.- nausea or vomiting.- diarrhoea.- foul smelling vaginal discharge.
